Chapter 97 Huh . . . Five Days?!
[BONUS]
Activate . . . Evil Heart . . .
Evil Heart LV. 1 » LV. 2
Huh . . .?
My eyes went wide when the notification flashed before my eyes.
W-what on earth?! I only activated it like how many times? Three! And now it was already level two? Was it that easy to level this skill?
<All Evil Skills are easy to level up. That\'s one of the perks of having the System.>
The most shocking of all was the part where the skill would last for five days instead of only one!
What the f*** was this?! It was only level two, so how come the duration was as much as five days? What would happen if I reached the MAX of this skill? Would my other self take over my body forever?
<That might happen~>
NO!
I wanted to cancel!
Where was that goddamn cancel button?!
I shouldn\'t let that lunatic roam free for five days! One day was already enough for him to cause a lot of damage!
Who are you calling a lunatic? My idiotic, naïve self?
That familiar cold tone and that familiar grip of coldness that seeped through my whole body numbed me as I lost control . . . This was bad.
I could . . . not . . . let . . . him . . .
Too late.
With the blackout, I knew that I had made a big mistake. I just unleashed hell, and there was no longer anything I could do to stop it.
"Damn it! Why can\'t my attack go through?" Emi growled.
I woke up with the weird sizzling sound of the fire that dared graze against my skin.
With a spell as weak as this, where did they get the guts to attack me?
"You," Emi called. Her arrogant face feared none. "Why aren\'t you affected by my attacks–!"
Lucy appeared in my hand, and with one swipe, Emi\'s head exploded from the force.
"It\'s because you\'re weak, obviously."
A heavy silence descended, followed by ear-piercing screams from Sheryl and Edgar. Megu hugged her child tight, and Angelica\'s face squeezed into the safety of her ample bosom.
"Emi!" Sheryl screamed and stared at me in horror. "What have you done?!"
I returned her stare, making her subconsciously take a step back. Her face displayed visceral fear as her body shook.
"I\'m doing what I should have done the first time. Too bad that I can\'t torture you. It\'s just that the idea of you stepping foot in my home is more revolting than your death."
Brago lunged at me with suicidal disregard for his own safety, wishing to take me out with his sword.
There was no use in prolonging this bloodshed. My furniture might get ruined.
With a casual twist of my wrist, I carve a notch out of Brago\'s heart. A gaping hole punched right through his chest, showing the background in clear view.
Brago instantly fell like a lifeless corpse.
Edgar, who was already shaking, was so scared that he wet his pants. He tried to run, but with a single downward strike, he was sliced into two. Before he could scream, his eyes had already rolled to the back of his head before bursting into particles.
Sheryl\'s face warped in fear and dread. Her body shook so hard she fell on her knees, and begged me, "I-I\'m sorry. I-I\'m sorry. I promise I won\'t insult you anymore. I will do anything you ask. Anything."
Her tears and snot-covered face looked straight up at me as she choked, "D-don\'t kill me. I\'ll do anything–"
She went down on the floor with her head rolling on the ground.
Next, I stopped in front of Megu, who protected her child with all her might. Angelica was crying in her arms, and Megu was pleading with her eyes for me to stay back.
"It\'s useless, you know . . . ," I told her. "You can\'t kill me with just that."
I stepped to the side just in time for Brago\'s sword to come slashing through my left. Without missing a beat, I reciprocated with a harsh slash of my own, tearing through his body and slicing messily through his flesh until he was only pieces of meat.
I then faced Megu and tilted my head. "A shame. If you just let him lie there, you could still have a pawn. Too bad that he could no longer move, much less stand."
Megu\'s begging face turned into a glare, and her kind, motherly face disappeared, replaced by that of a conniving witch with a seductive smile.
"You knew?" she asked me.
"Let\'s just say that I have a set of particular skills that let me see other\'s information. I wouldn\'t be the Lord of this house if I didn\'t have that much."
Megu giggled despite the situation she was in. "I knew it. Something did strike me as odd. From the beginning, did you plan to lead us here and fool us with your kind and naïve self, toying with us until you finally get bored and decide to kill us?"
". . ." I burst out laughing. "I wish I had that kind of imagination. But feel free to believe what you want."
I stared at her with a slight grin on my face. "Besides, I\'m not the only one who fooled everyone here."
". . ." Megu returned my smile, but there was a dangerous sharpness in her eyes now. "Transported in this world as a mother with a child is no joke. Many men want to do me harm. Some were kind, but some were not. All of them had two things in common. They were deceitful, and they only wanted one thing. Luckily, I acquired some . . . very special skills of my own."
"And I assumed that Brago was one of these men?"
"Yes." Anger crossed Megu\'s face but only for a brief moment. "That man seemed good at first — brave and strong with moral dignity. But even he couldn\'t control his lust. None of them could. It was just touching at first. A simple pat on the shoulder. Until eventually, it became an \'accidental\' rub on the thighs and breasts . . . so I turned him into a puppet. Like all of the men before him."
