Wedding Night: I Became the Female Supporting Character and Married the Villain!

Chapter 254 - 254: Zheng Ying

“I don’t think the main character’s girlfriend will freak out too much if she’s kidnapped now that she knows what’s coming.” The sound of papers being flipped rose and fell in the meeting room. Luo Ying was talking about a scene that involved conflict and suspense.

A middle-aged woman cut her off before she could finish, saying, “How can she not be afraid? She’s only seventeen. Any young girl would be understandably terrified upon encountering robbers.”

Su Li had introduced her before. Her name was Zheng Ying. She made her debut at a young age and won an award for best supporting actress once, but in the past five years, she had not appeared in any noteworthy projects.

When Luo Ying saw her, she couldn’t decide whether the world was indeed small or that enemies were bound to collide on a narrow road. Wasn’t this the woman who had almost picked a fight with Zhou Cheng at the annual party?

“Rather than fear, she’s just able to take action under pressure. Fear, anxiety, and confidence are intertwined, and it’s the job of professional actors to convey such complicated emotions.” Zheng Ying seemed to be earnestly analyzing the script with a frown on her face. She looked at Luo Ying as if she was an elder condemning an insensible junior.

Luo Ying gave her a faint smile, but she knew Zheng Ying wasn’t taking the script seriously. Instead, she was seizing every opportunity to silence her.

When she said “freak out too much” just now, she clearly did not say that the character would not freak out at all. However, Zheng Ying made it sound like the character had absolutely no fear and then stood up to criticize it, showing that she had a better understanding of the script. This was Zheng Ying’s third interruption.

During the script interpretation, everyone voiced their opinions peacefully.Zheng Ying was pointedly firing shots at her.

No one would believe that it was unintentional.

Su Li kept stomping on Cheng Zhen’s feet under the table. Cheng Zhen could only helplessly give Luo Ying a look.

Luo Ying wasn’t angry. She found it hilarious that Zheng Ying was so determined to assert her leadership over the production team.

“Yes, Sister Zheng is correct, but we can first hear Yingying’s perspective.” Su Li, sensing the tension, emerged hastily to diffuse the situation. “It’s about interpreting the script. There’s no one right answer, but we can talk about it!”

Zheng Ying’s opposition to Luo Ying baffled Cheng Zhen. She pursed her lips and slid the phone over to Luo Ying. On the screen, there was a line of text: [Middle-aged woman who enjoys preaching (squints)]

Luo Ying briefly laughed at Cheng Zhen’s emoji, but she quickly covered her face.

However, Zheng Ying appeared to have noticed Luo Ying’s grin and reacted angrily out of embarrassment. “Director Su, I know that different interpretations of a script are common, but isn’t a good attitude one of the most fundamental qualities of a good actor? Someone who didn’t even respect the script was not worthy of being the female lead!”

Zheng Ying threw the script down after making that statement and got up to leave.

When she left, a few of the actors looked at each other in confusion for a second before getting to their feet and leaving.

The situation became even more awkward. None of the other actors wanted anything to do with the argument, so they left after making up an excuse to get a drink of water.

Luo Ying laughed off her anger. Why was she still forming cliques and isolating others when she was an adult?

All but Luo Ying and a few others had left the meeting room.

Su Li rubbed his irritated brow. He was just a small-time director. He only wanted to make a simple drama! Why was this so difficult?

Cheng Zhen looked left and right. She was also in a difficult position. “I’m sorry, Yingying. I didn’t expect Zheng Ying to be so…”

She had no better words to describe it. However, she had personally pulled Luo Ying over. Even so, she had given her such a troublesome production team. Cheng Zhen was a little guilty.

“It’s okay. It’s not your fault.” Luo Ying waved her hand. She knew that this was a conflict between her and Zheng Ying.

“Sister Ying, did you know Sister Zheng Ying before?” Su Li asked carefully.

“I swear, I really don’t know her at all.” Luo Ying met Su Li’s eyes and held her gaze. “The first time I met her was at the Luya Group’s annual meeting. She was already hovering over me like a vulture.”

Wang Yu, who had been sitting silently behind Luo Ying, also added, “It’s true. We’ve never met Sister Zheng Ying before.”

Luo Ying had debuted with a lot of fanfare. She walked a completely separate path from a veteran actress like Zheng Ying. If not for this drama, they wouldn’t have met at all.

“I understand, Sister Ying.” Su Li nodded helplessly. As Zhenzhen’s friend, I believe in Zhenzhen’s judgment and trust you guys. However, the show must go on. I’ll look for Zheng Ying to persuade her.”

He sighed and went out to look for Zheng Ying..
