Chapter 33 Red-Eyed Serpent
It\'s been a little over an hour and half since Lucas entered the dungeon, but he hasn\'t encountered a monster that he could kill yet, and his slow walking pace only made it feel much longer for him.
However, it was not as though he could move carelessly in this dungeon that blocks pretty much all vision past 100 meters.
"Does this dungeon have nothing else besides Earth Hogs?" Lucas decided to ask Eva.
If Earth Hogs were the only monster in this place, then he could only try to fight one. But if there are other monsters, he will be patient.
"I don\'t know."
Eva shrugged, leaving Lucas speechless.
And she continued, "We\'ve only recently purchased this place. Although we did scout this place out, it was only to see whether the mist is harmful to humans or not."
Of course, Eva was lying about her knowledge of this dungeon. Even for someone at her level, she wouldn\'t enter a dungeon in this kind of environment with a newbie like Lucas if she didn\'t know what to expect.
"Don\'t worry, we have plenty of time, and I am not an unreasonable person, so I won\'t tell you to rush things."
Lucas nodded his head and continued to wander the dungeon.
After another ten minutes, Lucas came to a halt when he suddenly felt an ominous feeling in his guts for some reason.
\'What is this feeling? My spine is shivering… This is… a sense of danger?\' Lucas immediately began to look around his surroundings while trying his best to not move too much.
It took a moment, and he would have missed it if it were not for its glowing red eyes and his enhanced senses, but there was a large serpent-like creature wrapped around one of the trees in the distance.
Its body was covered in green, pointy scales that slightly pop up like spikes, and there were two small horns on its head.
If one looks closely, its scales are also coated in some sort of liquid.
\'That\'s a Red-Eyed Serpent! Their scales are coated in a poisonous substance that can kill even a level 100 within minutes if it gets into their system! However, their defenses are almost nonexistent, and they don\'t really have any special attacks, so as long as I can avoid its poison, I should be able to kill it easily with my stats.\'
After identifying the monster, Lucas has decided to fight the Red-Eyes Serpent, as he was confident that he could avoid the monster\'s attacks with his Vanishing Steps.
Eva noticed a change in Lucas\' aura, but she couldn\'t see any monster around him, so she decided to get closer.
Once she could see the Red-Eyed Serpent that was wrapped on top of a tree, she pondered to herself, \'Does he really intend on fighting that? While it\'s definitely killable for even someone like him, the Red-Eyed Serpent is even more dangerous than an Earth Hog because of its deadly poison.\'
Eva then looked inside the pouches on her leather belt to make sure she had an antidote for the Red-Eyed Serpent\'s poison.
She found the antidote a moment later, but that didn\'t make her feel any less worried.
\'Even if I have an antidote, it wouldn\'t be of any use to someone at his level, who would die from the poison before the antidote can even take effect. If he gets injured, it\'s over for him…\'
"Lucas, that\'s a Red-Eyed Serpent. Its body is covered in deadly poison, and if it manages to injure you even in the slightest, you\'re a dead man. You\'re better off trying to kill an Earth Hog than to fight this thing." She decided to warn him just in case he isn\'t aware.
"I am aware," he said without looking away from the monster.
"And you still want to fight it? Don\'t say I didn\'t warn you." Eva didn\'t say anything else and silently spectated him from a distance.
The Red-Eyed Serpent left the tree and began approaching Lucas shortly after.
\'Focus… focus… focus…\' Lucas stared at the Red-Eyed Serpent without blinking.
The moment the Red-Eyed Serpent moved, Lucas also used Vanishing Steps without hesitation, making sure that he was nowhere close to the monster.
\'Those movements… Why do they look so familiar?\' Eva pondered to herself as she watched Lucas use his movement skill.
\'That\'s right! The monster Vanishing Silver Wolf also has the same movement skill. If I recall correctly, it\'s called the \'Vanishing Steps\'. Even though the monster is a low-level monster, because of its annoying movement skill, they are categorized as a dungeon boss.\'
\'No wonder why he\'s so confident even before a Red-Eyed Serpent… Having such a powerful ability will definitely give him an enormous advantage in combat against those that don\'t have any movement skills— even if his skill isn\'t exactly the same as the Vanishing Silver Wolf\'s signature skill.\'
Eva did not believe for a second that Lucas had the exact same skill as the Vanishing Silver Wolf, as that would be quite ridiculous.
\'Even if it\'s not exactly the \'Vanishing Steps\', he\'s still very lucky to have something similar.
"Hah!"
After spending a few minutes confusing the Red-Eyed Serpent with his Vanishing Steps, Lucas suddenly attacked it from the side with his sword, piercing it right in the head.
The Red-Eyed Serpent released a painful scream before falling to the ground in a lifeless manner.

Lucas\' level increased by four straight levels after killing the Red-Eyed Serpent.
"I have killed a monster in this dungeon. Can I join your team now?" Lucas turned to look at the dazed Eva after killing the Red-Eyed Serpent.
