Chapter 242 - Gifting A Car
“Fali, I’m on the highway beside the beach. Come out for a second.”
“Huh? Why are you at the beach?”
“I miss you.”
A while later, Fali walked over from the beach. She wore a swimsuit with a life vest. As part of the Coastal Rescue Team, she had to be ready to go into the ocean for rescue at any moment, so she always wore the life vest when working.
When she walked over, she was confused.
Where was Chen Zhao? Didn’t he say he was here? Why wasn’t he here?
Fali called him. “Chen, where are you?”
“I’m here.”
“Where?”
“On the road.”
“How come I don’t see you?”
“Do you see a red car parked there?”
“Uh, yeah.” Fali obviously saw a new sports car parked on the side.
“Look inside.”
Confused, Fali turned to look. There seemed to be someone in there. And the person was waving at her? It was Chen?
Fali walked over quickly. Chen Zhao had already opened the door.
“Chen, how come you’re in here?”
“Why can’t I be in the car?”
“Who’s is it?”
“Yours.”
“Stop joking.”
“My gift for you.”
“Huh?” Fali gaped at Chen Zhao with disbelief.
Chen Zhao had never gifted her anything after they started dating. She never expected that his first gift would be a car.
She obviously recognized the Aston Martin logo. The car had to be a few hundred thousand dollars, right?
“Like it?”
Fali already had her arms around Chen Zhao’s neck. She pressed a kiss on his lips.
Chen Zhao hugged Fali’s thin waist. “Want to try?”
“You drove it over?”
“Yeah.”
“But you don’t have a license.”
“I just got it.”
“You’ve been practicing these past few days?”
“Yeah.”
People always said that guys loved cars, but women actually loved cars more.
Fali impatiently got in. She tested the driver’s seat that still had the scent of leather. She had to admit that her ratty old car couldn’t compare to this new car’s feeling.
The smooth steering experience, the gentle arcs like the curves of a woman’s body... Fali had no reason not to fall in love with the car.
When they went home, Fali drove the new Aston Martin while Chen Zhao drove her old car.
Chen Zhao kind of regretted buying her this sports car. Fali had already transformed into a racecar driver. The first time she tried it, Chen Zhao was sitting next to her. She slammed down on the gas pedal and Chen Zhao’s legs were weak when he got off.
Thankfully, Fali didn’t drive too quickly on the way home. Chen Zhao followed behind her.
“Chen, we have a guest?” Fali saw another car parked on the side of the road.
“That’s mine.”
“What? You bought two cars today?”
“Yes.”
“Why didn’t you buy yourself a better one?”
“I usually have to bring White Ma, Black Ma, and the others, so I need a bigger car. This one suits me better.”
“But you buying such an expensive one for me makes me uncomfortable.”
“We’re a family. Don’t say that.”
Chen Zhao only saw cars as a transportation tool. He didn’t put too much love or dreams into it. To him, even the most expensive car was still only a car.
There was a difference in value, but they were the same in essence.
Some people loved houses, some people loved cars, and some loved both.
That night, Fali was more enthusiastic than before. It was like she wanted to repay Chen Zhao.
But just as they were having sex, Chen Zhao’s phone rang. He didn’t want to answer, but it kept ringing.
“Take it,” Fali panted. “It’s so annoying.”
Chen Zhao unwillingly reached over and finally got the phone. “Hello?”
“Chen, help me out.” It was Dell’s voice.
“I’m busy. And don’t you know that it’s immoral to disturb people’s rest?”
“You sound out of breath,” Dell said.
“Next time I go to your place, I’m gonna stuff your head into the toilet,” Chen Zhao said menacingly.
Dell immediately shoved the phone at Faith, who said in her baby voice, “Uncle Chen.”
“Oh, Faithie, what’s wrong?”
“Uncle, can you help me win Ronnie and Vera?”
“Sure. How can I help?”
“Give me Black Ma and White Ma.”
“Sure, no problem. When?”
“Tomorrow.”
“Sure. Goodnight, Faithie.”
“Who is it? How come your voice changed?”
“A girl.”
“I knew it.”
“I’ve seen her body before.”
“You *sshole, thinking of another woman’s body when you’re lying on me?”
“She’s not even...one year old.”
“I hate you.”
...
The next day, Chen Zhao brought the entire family.
The backseat was very spacious. The back of the third row could be laid down to form a small platform. White Ma and Black Ma couldn’t run around, but at least it was better than being stuffed inside Fali’s car.
They could also open the skylight and stick their heads out.
None of these bastards kept calm inside Chen Zhao’s car. With a crash, the glass windows on both sides shattered.
“Black Ma, I saw you! This is a new car! New car!” Chen Zhao stared at the rearview mirror, a bit angry.
This car only cost $20,000 but it was still a new car.
Even a rebellious kid wouldn’t do this. If Chen Zhao was able, he would definitely beat them up now.
Knowing that he’d made a mistake, Black Ma finally grew more obedient.
The car reached Dell’s home. Seeing the unfamiliar car, Dell thought it was some stranger. When Black Ma stuck his head out of the broken window, Dell recognized him immediately. He went to open the gates so the car could come through.
“Chen, when did you buy a car? If you need one, I can gift you one. This model is too low standard.”
“Please, it’s not like I haven’t seen your cars before. You only have sports cars. None of them can fit Black Ma and White Ma.” Chen Zhao pointed at the windows. “Plus, it’ll definitely be more expensive and annoying to replace a sports car’s windows.”
“Ahh...Uncle Chen, you’re here!” Faith ran out like a puppy, but she couldn’t keep her balance at all.
When she reached Chen Zhao, he caught her.
“Ever since you healed her eyes,” Dell said. “She seemed to have gotten smarter. She even learned how to speak quickly.”
“Yeah.” Chen Zhao wasn’t sure if the Pristine Eyeballs had caused this. Technically, they wouldn’t cause any changes to humans.
However, Faith had really become smarter. She went from baby talk to being able to communicate (albeit unclearly) in two weeks.
Earlier, Dell had worried that something had happened to Faith, so he called Chen Zhao over for a checkup. He didn’t find any problems. Faith was very healthy.
As for becoming smarter, it wasn’t a bad thing.
“Oh, right. Where did Tsura go these days? I haven’t seen her.”
