Chapter 956: A Prestigious Ring

Among most other Legendary equipment, this Ring would be one of the strongest.
Someone had once said that even the worst of the rarest equipment was worth more than one that was common and at the same grade.
Obviously, this was a flawed statement. After all, if the bonus effects were absolutely rubbish, then
a Legendary equip would not even be worth as much as a Gold one.
However, this saying still generally held true. Shen Wansan had a look at the Ring and began to salivate. He estimated that this piece of equipment would still be relevant even after a year and a half.
The bonus Lifesteal and Critical Strike Chance were among the best that an equip could provide. The first and third special effects were also extraordinary. It was qualities such as these that would prolong an equipment’s relevancy.
Secure in the Light was a skill that granted the target 100% Armor and a shield that blocked 10% of incoming damage.
If the target’s Armor was already extremely high, the effect would be even greater. Furthermore, this also applied to the damage absorption, as it was dependent on the target’s Max HP.
It was because of these special effects which scaled off the original Attributes of the target that the value of this Ring skyrocketed. After all, the user of this equip would have no need of upgrading in that slot for the next year and a half, which equated to a large amount of gold being saved.
The second special effect was similar to Lu Li’s Emblem, which dispelled status ailments. This was a fairly common effect and had nothing to do with scaling off levels.
Normal Legendary grade equips were worth around thousands upon thousands of dollars in real life currency. Lu Li’s dagger for example was worth more than a million.
“What a miracle.”
In Lu Li’s excitement, he suddenly thought about his past life. If he had found an item like this during his previous life, he might not have lost his little sister.
The game had been growing, and so were the demands of the playerbase.
During earlier times, when there were less than ten thousand players, one piece of rock would be worth 30,000 to 50,000. However, in more recent times, this sum was not actually considered to be that much. For the large majority, their experiences in regard to supply and demand would be the same, given that they had good luck. To be worshipped as a god among players, a person would need to at least have a net worth of at least one million in real life.
Lu Li then thought about it, and decided to send the information of the Ring to Wandering, asking whether he was interested in it.
According to some, Lu Li was a very rigid and straightforward person. He did not even send a greeting to Wandering before talking about the Ring.
The best decision that would reap the most benefits would be to give it to Shen Wansan to deal with.
If Wandering had paid for it, it still would not be enough, even though he was worth around a million. There was still a difference between the value of the Ring and the amount that Wandering could afford.
Wandering had a look, then rejected the offer.
“Where’d you get it from? It doesn’t look too bad, but giving it to me would be wasteful. You can handle it yourself.”
He didn’t play PVP, and he didn’t bring his Emblem with him sometimes. As such, the second effect would be useless if he had it.
“If you don’t want this piece of equipment to flow around the market, I can recommend someone.” Shen Wansan knew what Lu Li was thinking, which was to not let treasures fall out of his control.
“Oh, you know people in the guild?” Lu Li was extremely surprised.
“There’s someone in your guild who has already bought a couple of Dark Gold equips from me. His technique is pretty good, and he probably already has a full set of Dark Gold equipment,” Shen Wansan suggested.
It was already quite normal for players to have Gold equipment. As for a whole set of Dark Gold equipment, even a professional player might not have one.
Lu Li knew who Shen Wansan was talking about; this person was a Paladin in Ruling Sword. He had finished off the Green Dragon from a while ago and was known as the Dual Wielder of the Dark Gold Blade.
According to the other people, he had joined the game later, but had trained so hard that he was now on par with the first squad in terms of levels.
The key point was that he was willing to fully commit to the game. As soon as he saw that a piece of
good equipment would fit well with his playstyle, he would try his best to buy it.
His commitment was firstly rewarded with an entry into Ruling Sword. After a short while, he joined the elite squad and had tagged along with Lu Li’s small squad a couple of times when they were clearing Instance Dungeons. When he was called to the arena, he would join Fat Monkey and Moonlight, and would then go on to be one of the more famous players in Dawn.
The game could be played one way by the poorer players, and another way by the wealthier players.
“He has wanted a Legendary grade equip for a while, even if the properties aren’t great. He’s extremely keen on improving, and he’s willing to fork out the cash. I have a friend who was selling a Legendary grade shield that was absolutely trash. If it weren’t for me, he would’ve bought it,” Shen Wansan said.
“Selling it to a member of the guild doesn’t look too good and is a little awkward,” Lu Li said as he mulled over it.
“Do you want me to ask for you?” Shen Wansan asked Lu Li.
“Ah...no. There’s no need for that. Thanks though.”
Lu Li did not really care about it, but it would seem a little pretentious if he had asked Shen Wansan to do it for him.
As they were conversing, Remnant Dream ran into the room, still in her skeleton form. She huffed and puffed, then said: “The old man Spade was so nasty! He didn’t only reject selling me theRrings, but he was going to call the guards on me!”
Lu Li shared a gaze with Shen Wansan, then both acknowledged that this was the end of the day.
“Alright, let’s see how much we gained today,” Shen Wansan said. As soon as he said this, Remnant Dream immediately ran over to him.
Remnant Dream had bought a total of 112 rings. Adding onto the gold spent on the scrolls, this had totalled to nearly 35 million.
The Circle of Hope was by far the most valuable item they had appraised. Apart from this, there were Gold grade rings, and the rest that weren’t so great were given to Shen Wansan to handle.
However, it was unusual that there weren’t any Dark Gold rings.
Lu Li was not surprised at all. Spade spawned once a day, and in 300 rings, there would most probably only be one that was of Legendary or Dark Gold grade. If there was a Legendary grade ring, there would not be a Dark Gold one, and vice versa.
There should have been 5 that were available, and Remnant Dream had bought 3. This meant that in the remaining 200 or so rings, there were only 2 Gold ones.
After taking out the Legendary ring and the 2 Gold ones from the heap of rings, Shen Wansan and his special appraisers went to work out the value of the remaining rings. “Alright, I’ve counted all of them. There are 109 rings, so the total is 4367 gold. I’ll lose out on a little and give you 4400 gold though.”
Every ring had a value of around 40 gold. Remnant Dream’s luck was not fake after all.
After trading with Shen Wansan, Lu Li then turned to Remnant Dream and began to count the remaining.
After cutting the initial costs, the profit of the entire operation was around 900 gold. Lu Li had split it 50/50 with Remnant Dream, so each person had received 450 gold.
Lu Li had needed a lot more gold, but for Remnant Dream, this was enough to satisfy her. She was extremely excited and said: “Let’s continue tomorrow! Mum won’t have to worry about my savings now!”
Lu Li could not bear to tell her the cold hard truth, that she had already been blacklisted by Spiering.
