Chapter 1214 - Death Together

Chapter 1214: Death Together

The dark energy in Loramus was the energy that he absorbed from the Stormwind Altar when he revived. This energy wasn’t the same as the other Demon Hunters, who took their energy from Demons. It was absorbed straight from the Twisting Nether, which was why Razelikh felt that the energy was pure and familiar.

For Razelikh, the energy in Loramus was like seeing his mother.

However, this familiarity didn’t make Razelikh surrender – it only made him go berserk.

Razelikh was at a disadvantage, and it was almost impossible for him to kill his opponent with his own power. However, he refused to be banished into the Twisting Nether either. Then, he discovered that Loramus was filled with demon power, and decided to use this chance to synchronize himself into Loramus.

Razelikh invaded the body of Loramus in an attempt to control his mind and make the power of Loramus his own. Then, he would become an even stronger demon.

That instant, a pair of wings grew out from Loramus’ back. His entire body turned black and began to spread a strong demon energy. He had been possessed by the demon.

“You will belong to me! We’ll become the new Razelikh together!” the demon laughed.

A pained expression appeared on Loramus’ face, as a part of his facial structure had morphed into Razelikh. However, in this hideous and pained expression, Lu Li saw salvation and a kind of craze that belonged to Demon Hunters.

This was a plan!

That’s right, this all part of Loramus’ plans. He knew that his enemy would find a chance to invade his body and turn him into a demon.

“Damned Elf, my dear kin, what are you still waiting for? Hurry and stab that dagger into my chest,” Loramus gasped as he battled the demon within him.

Lu Li took out Hataera’s Curse and gazed at the dark blade that was different to other daggers. All the previous guesses now had an explanation.

Hataera’s deity would seal both Loramus and Razelikh inside the body of the Demon Hunter.

This was why Loramus’ friends were all in so much pain; they were helping their friend end his life. Loramus would be sealed together with a demon and it was hard to imagine any worse result.

Now that the demon had been tempted to enter his body, the time had come!

Should he do it?

If he did it, Razelikh would be caged in an eternal cell, and would never have another chance to come out and cause chaos. But then, Loramus would be equivalent to dead.

This respectable Demon Hunter truly thought of slaying demons and protecting Azeroth as his mission. Revenge alone was not enough to explain this passion, a passion so strong that he would even sacrifice himself for it.

However, if he didn’t stab Loramus, he would be taken over by the demon? Compared to a Demon Hunter, a demon would clearly know how to control the power from the Twisting Nether better.

Lu Li quickly realized that he was being emotional.

He had no choice. When Loramus made the decision, he could only continue as he had planned.

Even if Lu Li knew that his actions would cause Loramus to die with the demon, Loramus had worked so hard for so long. Even when Loramus returned from the dead and grave back to the human world, he had longed for this very moment.

Lu Li had no time to hesitate; he could see that the face of Loramus had been almost taken over by Razelikh.

If he didn’t act fast, Loramus’ sacrifice would be a joke.

Lu Li fought back the sickened filling in his heart as he pierced the dagger through Loramus’ chest.

In that instant, it seemed like the pain of being pierced did not cause Loramus any pain. Instead, he looked as if he had been saved and used his last bit of strength to speak.

“Thank you, my kin. All has been ended. Without your help, I probably never would have been able to fulfil this wish. I will return to the Twisting Nether and forever battle with this demon.”

“I’m honoured to be chosen, my respected kin. Your glory will be praised in every corner of the forest.”

A lonely feeling erupted in Lu Li’s heart. Perhaps this was the fate of a hero – they used their lives to protect the land, challenging evil threats to the world. All that the others could do was to tell of their stories.

“It doesn’t matter anymore. I’ve already been banished anyway, my kin...haha...”

With a low and spiteful tone, Loramus took Razelikh with him. He followed the trail that Razelikh came from and forever disappeared from the land of Azeroth.

Besides some marks left behind by the battle, it was as if the Demon Hunter had never ventured to this peak.

“Thank you, thank you...”

Trebor’s floating figure seemed to waver as the wind blew, as if he was about to disappear any moment.

“May all brave souls gain eternity,” Lu Li said softly for Loramus, who had left, and Trebor, who refused to leave until he battled and won against Razelikh.

“Thank you too, my friend. I never imagined I’d be so thankful to an Elf,” Trebor said in appreciation. “You’ve helped me so much, yet I cannot give you a suitable reward.”

“You’re too kind. I’ve already gained a lot,” Lu Li said.

The System announced that he had completed the “Horde Hero’s Soul” series task. He gained reputation, experience and one extra skill point.

The reputation reward was handsome; Lu Li had never received so much reputation as reward.

The experience reward was worthwhile too. Not only did it push him straight to level 58, but this also pushed him into first place on level ranking. Now almost everyone knew that Lu Li just finished an impressive quest.

Quests were certainly the fastest way to level in Dawn, that is, if you could find the right one.

Hachi Chan barely ever levelled with teams in the wild, but her level never dropped out of the top 20. This was a miracle for a high schooler.

From this quest series, Lu Li had obtained another skill point and was very satisfied. Even if there weren’t any other rewards, just these two skill points alone made everything worth it.

This quest series, according to urban legend, had the most possibility of giving out skill points, but no one ever thought that it would give out two.

“Loramus had already expected this result, so he left me some things to pass down to you,” Trebor added after he gave out his own reward, which had Lu Li filled with anticipation again.
