Chapter 1223: Grol

There was an Epic Warrior Belt with three powerful effects.
Lu Li saw its Attributes and decided the owner of the equipment. As he looked around, he saw the eager faces of all the players and made a heartfelt statement.
“For this equipment, everyone will receive an extra 10 points.”
Suddenly, the atmosphere become much more jubilant, even though most Warriors lost out.
Since the guild was giving out so many points, this equipment was obviously going to one of the professional players.
However, this item still wasn’t being given for free; Moonlight paid 5000 points for it. Even if they had auctioned for this normally, there were very few players who could afford this price. But this way, the players who participated in the battle could earn more points.
With the current system, the most points were earned in competitions. There were many points earned for participating in the arena and killing opponents.
Moonlight was a very strong PVP player, but even he had less than 10,000 points. As such, it seemed most appropriate that he should take it given the amount of time he had put in.
“The Epic belt that I am replacing is a level 55 item. Do you want it?” Moonlight asked.
The belt that was on him was quite decent, and it was a bit of charity for Moonlight to give it away. He was a PVP player, so it was quite common to fight players in the Wild. As such, he would often be left with spare equipment. Moreover, this new level 60 equip required a Level Reduction Gem before it could be used.
According to the rules, the equipment of a professional player was not considered open to the public unless it was confirmed to have been replaced.
As such, the Warriors present couldn’t see the Attributes of the equipment, and had no choice but to bid for it blindly. What was surprising was that many players didn’t hesitate, despite not being able to see the Attributes. There were a few bids already appearing in the channel.
The starting price of 20 points quickly reached 100 points.
Eventually, the price increase began to slow at about 700 points and there were only a few senior Warriors left bidding. In the end, the price broke through 1000 points. Even new equipment generally wouldn’t be at this price.
“Are you guys dumb?” the Warrior who ended up with the item said with a smile. “Didn’t you notice that Light bro had been using this item since level 53? How could he be using a bad item for such a long time? Light bro’s equipment has probably been fortified, enchanted and strengthened with stones. You can immediately use this item and it would not be a waste of 1000 points.”
“Dammit, he’s right...”
“Yeah, this item is worth more than the average Epic equipment!”
“Stop talking, the next item is... an Epic equipment... Mold,” Remnant Dream announced as she held onto a long Magic Staff Mold in her hand.
It was a weapon and Lu Li’s eyes lit up. Even though he didn’t receive any equipment for himself, Epic items weren’t as difficult to find. Exquisite Epic equipment on the other hand was an entirely different story. Lu Li’s exquisite Forging Hammer had been hungry for some time now.
Lady Sevine’s Will!
The Warlocks immediately started cheering, but Lu Li immediately put an end to that.
“Why are you guys so happy? This is a Priest item; the staff that Lady Sevine was holding was much shorter. Her name is just on this item because it is part of a set.”
This was often the case in Dawn, and there was nothing they could do about it.
For example, if you fought a Mage Boss that only dropped Mage equipment, then no one but Mages would want to fight it. Everyone would only want to fight Bosses that corresponded with their profession, and this would cause some issues.
Within a Boss’ collection of items, a Mage Boss might still drop equipment such as Chain Mail Armour.
Lady Sevine’s Will was an ordinary part of the collection and was an Exquisite Priest Magic Staff. Its basic effect was to restrain a target and it had another special effect which could instantly generate a lot of HP for a player. The last effect was a damage reduction passive that randomly triggered, but wasn’t too bad either.
This item was assigned to March Rain, but was taken by Lu Li for now.
He asked the guild’s logistics manager White Bread to collect the materials he needed to forge the Magic Staff from the market. After collecting the items, he took the Magic Staff and gave it to March Rain. March Rain also had a Bracer Mold for Lu Li to Forge.
Just like before, the guild gifted a portion of the points to the players while March Rain had to a pay a large sum.
If you looted the Boss again, there would be no more equipment, but there would be some quest items. Hachi Chan had triggered a quest for Lady Sevine with Orc Chief Stonard. After all, Lady Sevine had slaughtered many Orcs.
This quest could then be shared, which Hachi Chan promptly did.
A person with this quest could pick up the head of Lady Sevine and return it to Stonard to receive a big bounty. The reward for a Wild Boss would not be insignificant.
After the end of the battle, Lu Li didn’t disband the team, but took advantage of this opportunity to advance to the Dreadmaul Stronghold.
The Blasted Lands were starting to gain more players as a follow up to what had just happened. There were a large number of high-level monsters, as well as a variety of available quests and ores in this wilderness.
Today, Ruling Sword had shown their toughness. They had demonstrated that they could at least deter the younger generation, and they could even match up against a major guild.
Lu Li was never even worried about someone coming in to interfere with their Boss fight.
Dreadmaul Stronghold was called a Stronghold because the terrain was rather strange. Since Grol the Destroyer had turned to Rakh’likh the demon, the Horde army had tried time and time again to capture this Stronghold, but had always failed.
The battle between the NPC forces were not like the battles against the players. They wouldn’t come out in waves, but would march out with their entire force.
As such, they went by the old rules, and Lu Li took a team to clear out all the Dreadmaul Ogres on the path. These Ogres were all level 60, and most of them were elites. Each team also had a quasi-Boss.
These ogres would raid the Horde or Alliance army from time to time. When they were successful, they would snatch a load of supplies from the tents and only leave when they were satisfied.
When it was almost time for winter, the smarter ones were capable of making fires to keep themselves warm.
This time, it was the Dreadmaul Stronghold’s ogres that were going to be disturbed. They soon realized the strength of these adventurers. Individually, they were no match for them, but when the players worked together, the Ogres started falling. What was even more shameful was that not only did these players take potions, but they also had a healer.
The Ogres respawned quickly, which was one of the reasons why the Dreadmaul Stronghold was not an easy location to break through.
Lu Li was not worried that the other guilds wouldn’t catch up. Even if they did, Sesame Rice Ball could just open up the portal to let their other guild members in. Before the force arrived at the Storm Altar, it was Sesame Rice Ball that let the players in, which allowed them to gather an army of a few thousand.
After entering the Stronghold, Lu Li began to organize the players.
The monsters here were quite densely packed, so the best strategy was to slowly push forwards.
However, it was mostly the same with two groups fighting – one group for substitutions and one group to protect them from other guilds. This time, there was no need for the Warlocks to leave, as Grol the Destroyer didn’t have immunity to Shadow attacks.
“Scattered players and smaller guilds probably won’t mess with us, but the bigger guilds probably won’t sit still,” Wandering said anxiously.
“There are four regiments placed at the door defending us. Dreadmaul Stronghold only has one exit. If any Thieves or Druids sneak in, the Ogres will help us deal with them. The Ogres have anti-Stealth capabilities and the quasi-Boss has even more anti-Stealth. When we start the fight with the Boss, the Ogres will also go on alert and not be as calm as they are now.”
Lu Li had specifically determined the strategy for these three Bosses, but the strategy for the Ogre Leader in Dreadmaul Stronghold was much more concrete than for Lady Sevine.
Lady Sevine could be approached from all sides, while Grol was stuck in the castle.
“In case Glory Capital gets fully involved, you should contact your allies to get them ready. Water Fairy would probably want to know in advance,” Wandering didn’t forget to remind Lu Li.
In his eyes, Lu Li was similar to an orphan.
He clearly had something going with Water Fairy, but they pretended like nothing was happening. Even if the two were busy, surely they could have spared a message to each other. But in fact, they had gone almost 10 days and a half without speaking to each other.
Lu Li thought about it for a moment, and decided it would be good to give her a heads up.
After all, they were all allies and should be supporting each other. Lu Li also promised that he would give them some of the equipment.
This meant that if Ruling Sword didn’t have any matches on while Drizzle Court did, they would send equipment to Drizzle Court.
The Dreadmaul Stronghold’s mobs were soon cleared out and Grol the Destroyer finally came out of his tent. He was an unusually tall and heavily-armed Ogre with one thick head.
The Ogres were an interesting race. They had come from Draenor like the Orcs and had launched an offensive against Azeroth as a confederation. After the second war, the stupid arrogant Ogres thought that the little green Orcs were too weak, so they cut them off from their alliance.
They eventually spread all over Azeroth, wreaking havoc and distress upon the locals...
Compared to the regular Ogres, Grol was undoubtedly smarter. However, this was a rare trait in Ogres which also caused him to submit to Rakh’likh in order to gain more strength. He believed that the Ogres should rule all other creatures as the most important race.
