Chapter 1690 - Flawless Epic
Chapter 1690: Flawless Epic
The grey spirit clung to the outside of the weapon, stubbornly refusing to give in.
You almost couldn’t see any more fog on the outside with the naked eye, but Lu Li didn’t want to let it go at all, because he was really sure that this time’s casting spirit wasn’t completely successful. At the very beginning, there were a few instances like this. He thought it was close enough, but who knew that as soon as he relaxed his hold, the System would indicate that it had failed?
It was a good thing that failure didn’t damage the weapon. With the added help of the casting hammer, Lu Li able to increase a weapon’s level from average to fine or exquisite.
The members of his guild who received the weapons were all very satisfied.
“Success!” Lu Li couldn’t help but to let out a breath. As the one doing the spirit casting, he heard the system give the news.
The system indicated that he had successfully inserted the spirits into this weapon.
The weapon which was spirit-cast was still only half-finished though. Lu Li still needed to finish the final steps, hammering here and there. The rough double-handed axe transformed into something brand new.
“Take it away. Be careful when you’re using it – don’t let anyone run off with it,” Lu Li said as he gave the weapon to Crippled Black Ant.
Crippled Black Ant went over to receive it but almost dropped it as his hands shook.
He was relatively calm. The minstrel Black Dog Li, who was next to him, saw the quality of the weapon and exclaimed, “Flawless Epic! Hot damn! Crippled Black Ant, were you visited by the little lucky goddess last night? It’s actually so perfect, and the quality really is so...”
It was on the same level as the one that Moonlight had. The basic quality of this weapon had increased to a whole other level.
The special effects were also improved slightly. The last special effect, however, was completely different. No matter if it was from a practicality point of view or its price, Lu Li’s spirit-casting really increased its value.
Many players hadn’t touched a flawless level equipment, even professional players.
Crippled Black Ant immediately became the object of envy of all the others there.
“Ant’s such a kind and honest guy. He deserves it.”
Compared to Big Dog Li, who did whatever he wanted and didn’t care about most matters, Crippled Black Ant was a genuine guy. Most people ran over to congratulate him.
“Ant, I just washed my hands. Can you let me touch your trophy? Let me rub off on your luck,” the minstrel Big Dog Li cried in distress.
Lu Li didn’t rest. He decided to keep on striking while the iron was literally hot.
“Boss, don’t you want to take a rest? Somehow, I feel empty inside,” Big Dog Li said with a bitter face, seeing Lu Li take up the Mould. The Mould was of a magic single-handed sword.
Big Dog was using a double-handed staff at the moment and its quality wasn’t the best.
A few days ago, in the Molten Core Instance Dungeon, he received a piece of secondary equipment for a magic roles. Then, from the guild’s storehouse, he exchanged it for a long magic sword, which wasn’t very popular, but was something that was perfect for his taste. Then, this was exchanged perfectly for the magic staff.
“Nonsense, you take care of yourself,” Lu Li said bluntly before beginning to make the equipment.
The whole process took about as long as before. Very soon, it was time to cast the spirit again. Everybody surrounded him for half a day, watching on as they tried to gain some understanding of the process.
Since the very beginning till now, Lu Li seemed to have only been successful twice.
Both times, what was produced was something of a Flawless level. Although Lu Li had made more Flawless level things before, this time, he just needed to hear the word ‘success’.
“Succeed... It must work – all the gods are looking over,” the minstrel muttered as he stared at Lu Li.
The materials used this time were good too, otherwise, it wouldn’t match with this sort of Epic level weapon Mould. As such, Lu Li worked hard with every muscle of his body, hoping that he would again be able to produce another Flawless level weapon. If his good fortune came through it, who knows, it could be a Legendary weapon.
Perhaps it was because Lu Li was being cruel, or maybe Big Dog Li had done too many bad things.
In any case, this time’s spirit casting didn’t last long before it failed.
“What?” Big Dog Li asked in confusion after seeing Lu Li take his hands off, as well as his not-so-great expression.
“My commiserations,” Lu Li apologized, wielding his hammer, continuing to do the rest of the work.
“Actually...getting to flawless level, it’s just a matter of attributes,” Crippled Black Ant said, looking at his expressions of deep anguish as he grasped his shoulder straight away to comfort him. He even had to be careful not to keep smiling because he was so happy.
“How can it just be because of the attributes? Your 3rd special effect is so damn good,” Big Dog retorted with extreme resentment.
“Um, mine’s a special case – look at the others. Just because its flawless doesn’t mean it can change the special effects.”
Crippled Black Ant was naturally not really good at knowing the right thing to say, let alone the fact that now, there was one person who was satisfied and one who was disappointed. All the people looking around were secretly feeling happy about this failure.
“Why, why do you have to be like this to me!”
This complaint was so sad and pitiful. When the guys heard it, they fell silent. The girls started tearing up.
“Alright, cut the drama. Take your things away quickly. Come on, next, next!” Lu Li hurried, chasing him away. He really didn’t understand why there were so many fools in his own club.
“Boss, you can’t be like this. What has Ant done for you that you have to treat us differently? Are you having an affair with him or something?” Big Dog Li cried in teary humiliation.
“Go away,” Lu Li said, chucking the finished weapon right at him
The next player rushed over, handing over the Mould and materials that had been prepared.
Big Dog Li wasn’t happy, but he still obediently went away to the other side. However, very soon, he jumped over again.
“What happened? How come it wasn’t successful? Isn’t this clearly a Flawless Epic?”
There were four levels of weapons in Dawn when they were produced – superior, fine, exquisite and flawless.
Under normal circumstances, most weapons made from Moulds were superior level, while fine and exquisite were quite rare. It was very difficult to craft a flawless level weapon. There were many blacksmiths in the whole game who might not have even produced a single flawless weapon.
Because Lu Li had an exquisite smithing hammer, the items he crafted were naturally raised by one level.
Big Dog Li’s single-handed magic sword wasn’t successfully spirit-cast, but this didn’t stop it from becoming a flawless weapon.
This weapon was actually not that powerful, but Big Dog Li had already grown attached to its attributes and special effects. You always thought the things you have were better. He even thought that the weapon Lu Li made for him was better than Crippled Black Ant’s double-handed axe.
“Hahaha...”
A sudden laugh scared Lu Li enough that he almost hit himself with the hammer.
“Can someone take him away? Once you’ve got your weapon, go away,” Lu Li said with a wave of his hand, and immediately, someone dragged him off.
“Big Dog, you’ve gotta treat us!”
“I just don’t get it – Ant’s nice with people, and he got a flawless weapon and that was it. You’re such a nasty guy and you can still get a flawless weapon? How can it be that you get even more luck for bad stuff?”
“Nup, I’m just too jealous, I’m getting his balls for this!”
“Do it, you gotta do it!”
“Dammit, what the hell?! You damn bastards! Don’t, don’t, come on, be serious!”
