Chapter 84 - Begging for Dog Meat [1]
Chapter 84: Begging for Dog Meat [1]
Before discussing the appearance fee, Wang Yan had to first confirm three things.
“Where were the three of you initially planning to go for dinner? Are the two of them willing to go to the race track? Where is the race track located?”
Lin Weiwei could only answer one out of the three questions.
“We planned to get our nails done and then have some vegetarian food. Wait a moment. I will ask the two of them if they would like to go and watch the race.”
While Lin Weiwei dialed the number, she raised her chin at Huang Xu as she commanded, “What are you waiting for? Hurry and tell Wang Yan where that place is.”
“Oh…”
Aggrievement surged in Huang Xu while he lamented internally: Weiwei was so polite to Wang Yan, but was that how she treated him?
He was irritated, but he could only keep his feelings to himself. This was a bonafide aggrievement.
The silly young master still had to put on a toothy grin as he faced Wang Yan. He explained, “Urm, the race track is in the southeast direction, outside Sixth Ring Road. It’ll take about a little more than an hour by car from here. ”
Wang Yan had never been to Sixth Ring Road before. However, when he heard that it would take at least an hour to drive there, he immediately lost all interest in joining.
It would take three hours just to drive back and forth, and he would be forced to have dinner with a group of unfamiliar rich second generations… They could go f*ck themselves.
Whoever wanted to join could go ahead, but he would sit out of this.
Looking at Wang Yan’s uninterested expression, Lin Weiwei knew that she had to put in some effort in order to coax him into it.
In her besties’ opinion, Wang Yan was a very amiable person. He never fussed over trifles and was congenial company.
However, after sitting in the library with him for the whole morning, Lin Weiwei had come to the realization that this dog was a lone wolf when it came to matters of principle.
That was no surprise, since Husky was related to wolves anyway.
Dispelling all her random thoughts, Lin Weiwei told Nawu and Fu Yushi about the invitation. Nawu was very interested, whereas Fu Yushi strongly opposed it.
Fu Yushi’s exact words were, “You are asking us three ladies to hang out with a bunch of rich second generations at such a remote place? Lin Weiwei, have you gone nuts?”
Lin Weiwei was provoked to anger by her words. She moved a few steps away from the guys before she retorted her.
“You’re a nut! I plan to ask Gouzi to tag along too. My brother is familiar with Huang Xu and his gang. With Wang Wang around, he should be capable enough to take care of us, right?”
“Huh?” Fu Yushi’s voice sounded a little dubious. “That’s rare for you to trust a guy so much, Miss Lin.”
“Cut the crap! Just tell me whether you’re joining or not.”
Fu Yushi was a little afraid when faced with an agitated Lin Weiwei. She thought about it and did not reject Lin Weiwei right away.
“I’ll go if Wang Yan goes.”
“How can you have the audacity to tease me when you share a similar view? Is Wang Yan your man? Hang on.”
“You…”
Lin Weiwei decisively hung up the phone, not giving the little princess any chance to riposte.
She turned around and pulled Wang Yan to the side. She whispered, “You should go with us. Nawu and Shi Shi both said that they would only be at ease if you are with us.”
What?
Wang Yan’s survival instinct was a hit-and-miss, but it was inexplicably heightened at this moment. He immediately had his guard up.
‘Why do they trust me so much?
‘I don’t even f*cking trust myself!’
“I’m not going!” He refused the invitation at once, without giving any reason.
Lin Weiwei knew that it would not be so easy to talk him into this, so she immediately let go of her ego, laid out the facts and spoke persuasively.
“Brother Wang, look. Little Liu Li really is not free to keep you company. Her play has already entered the final stage of co-production. She doesn’t even dare to leave the school now. With so many departments working together on the play, God knows if any one of them might suddenly need her. It’d be useless for you to waste your time in front of our school.”
She continued, “Aren’t you bored, staying by yourself? I can’t bear to see you alone. That’s why I’ve decided to bring you along on a new experience. You’re still young and haven’t even had a chance to take the wheel before. I promise, it’d be absolutely exciting!”
Wang Yan cupped his palm around his ear and asked with wide eyes, “What did you call me just now? Let me hear it again.”
Lin Weiwei silently chanted ‘the only crime is pride’ as she smiled brightly and flattered him, “Brother Wang! If you take good care of the three of us today, you’ll be my brother from now on!”
“Hey! My cute sister!”
Wang Yan was satisfied and responded with a smile, “You asked me just now if I was bored, right? Well, I’m cool. I’m not bored.”
‘F*ck!
‘Was Wang Yan planning to run away after taking advantage of me?!’ Lin Weiwei cursed internally.
Wang Yan should ask around. When had she, Lin Weiwei, failed to take down any girl whom she wanted to?
As for the boys, how many boys would have the heart to reject her?!
Lin Weiwei was about to collect herself and convince him some more. However, just as she was about to speak, Wang Yan waved his hand and walked away quickly.
“See you two later!”
Huang Xu was overjoyed and waved his hand enthusiastically to send Wang Yan off. “See you later. Let’s have a drink together when you’re free!”
Lin Weiwei looked at this unbelievable scene and felt her head ache.
Alright!
‘Gouzi, you’ve guts! You sure stand your ground!’ she thought.
She turned around and rushed into the school.
Huang Xu was instantly dumbfounded. Looking at her leaving silhouette, he shouted at the top of his voice, “Weiwei, are you going to the track or not? What do you mean by this? Hey, aren’t we having lunch together?!”
What the heck was he shouting for?
She was no longer her dignified self. She had tricked into begging for dog meat now!
She dashed into the training hall but could not find Liu Li. She then rushed into the small auditorium. The crew of “Lady Wang Zhaojun Goes Beyond the Frontier” was in rehearsal.
“Lady Wang Zhaojun Goes Beyond the Frontier” was a very well-known classical drama. Lin Weiwei took a glance at the stage and came to the conclusion that Liu Li would not be able to leave the rehearsal until half an hour later. She sat in an empty seat at the back and opened her WeChat.
Begging for Dog Meat: Big Bear, Little Princess, hurry and get your *sses to the small auditorium!
Shi Shi’s a Little Princess: ?
Nawu’s Pretty Hot: Lin Pingzhi [2], has your PMS come earlier than expected again?
I am Fu Lili: You’re so cruel. You actually eat dog meat. Leave a drumstick for me. I want to dip it in vinegar.
Begging for Dog Meat: If I don’t see the two of you in ten minutes, see y’all tonight!
In less than five minutes, Fu Yushi and Reyi Nawu rushed into the small auditorium.
“What’s wrong, Sister Weiwei? Did Gouzi do something that angered you? Call him over. I’ll teach him a lesson!”
“Spill the beans!”
Although Lin Weiwei was arrogant and hot-tempered like a typical Capital girl, her EQ was high enough after all. At this moment, she had moved on from thinking about how to vent her anger, and was instead contemplating something else.
After narrating to the girls what had happened, Lin Weiwei asked anxiously, “Hey, do you think that Gouzi has already discovered it?”
Nawu was confused. “What did he discover?”
Fu Yushi was a little nervous. “The inspection period?! Did you accidentally reveal it to him?”
Only then did Nawu start to panic. “Oh my god! It can’t be that serious, right? If even YOU could accidentally let it slip, what about me?”
“I didn’t let the cat out of the bag!”
Lin Weiwei threw her hands up impatiently, complaining, “To be honest, I didn’t test him at all. How would I have revealed it myself?”
“Huh?!”
Fu Yushi and Reyi Nawu exchanged glances of puzzlement.
Actually, the so-called inspection period and its origin were very simple.
Although Lin Weiwei did not do anything, she was troubled by this suspicion: Had Gouzi noticed anything at all?
