The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 32

But now he was at a loss on what to wear on the top half of his body. Lucky for him his mother came to rescue him in time. The door of the cabin slid open and without him even looking in that direction he asked, “Ma, which t-shirt should I wear? Everything in my closet looks unimpressive.”

After not getting a response he glanced over only for him to get the fright of his life as he hastily covered up his bare chest. “Who the hell are you?” he yelled when he saw a chubby auntie with a sunny face standing there smiling at him.

“It’s me, you can call me auntie Sheila,” she said with one hand on her hip posing like a model.

Zi Han, “....”

Is it really impossible to return his mother and get his money back or at least exchange to get another one?

“I can’t walk into capital star with that pretty face of mine. I don’t plan on getting free lodging at the interplanetary maximum prison. I have been there once and the food there is horrible... Wait, what happened to your eye?”

“Hahaha did you get shampoo in it? HA! I told you so..... I said it, I said you weren’t ready for that but you were like ‘Ma, I am a big boy now’. Ha, big boy my ass.”

Zi Han couldn’t hear the rest of it because his brain had lagged at the prison part. “You have been to prison?” he asked and she suddenly realised she had said something she shouldn’t have.

.....

“Yes..... I have but it’s not important,” she said trying to downplay the fact that she broke into the Federation memorial fountain and skinny-dipped into the huge fountain pool with Zi Han’s father when they were still in the military academy only to get caught.

Back then they weren’t even dating yet but he obliged her and they broke-in in the middle of the night. Of course, they got caught and she spent a week in prison under her father’s instructions. Thinking of that mish-mash they had the balls to call mashed potatoes she shivered subconsciously.

Zi Han had on an expression that seemed to say tell me more but she wasn’t going to spill the tea. “What are you staring dumbly at me for? Get dressed,” she said picking up the clothes he scattered on the bed.

Fine, if she wasn’t going to say then he would ask his grandfather to spill the details. While his mother was in the walk-in closet packing away the clothes in her hand he suddenly asked, “Ma..... where is my white t-shirt? I think I should wear that one inside then a shirt over it.”

Zi Xingxi rolled her eyes when she saw the t-shirt he was asking for in the most conspicuous place possible. It’s either her son had gone half-blind from the shampoo or he didn’t even look closely.

She grabbed the t-shirt and a shirt with a checkered pattern before taking a step to walk out.

But before she stepped out she saw the pendant with her husband’s mech inside and sighed as she picked it up. She felt a pang in her chest but for Zi Han’s sake she kept the smile on her face and walked out.

She casually placed the clothes on the bed and said, “Don’t ever take this off..... you should always were it no matter what.”

Zi Han who had been staring at the clothes glanced in her direction and nodded seriously. He never took it off but today it snugged his bathrobe and he momentarily took it off which he shouldn’t have.

Zi Xingxi placed the pendant around his neck and said, “Don’t worry even if you meet your grandfather wearing ripped jeans he will still like you... Pfft.....”

“What? Why are you laughing?” he asked wondering what could be so funny that she would ruin this warm atmosphere.

“Pfft.... hahaha I am sorry. You look like you have pink eye Hahaha!”

Zi Han, “WTF!!!!”

He was now more certain than ever that he wanted to return her whether he has the receipt or not. She was still laughing about it ten minutes later as they entered the elevator going down to the cargo bay of the starship. That’s because Lynn Feng who was also in the elevator with them happened to mention it.

“Damn, when did you get pink eye?” she asked staring into Zi Han’s eye, “did you take a trip to the medical bay?”

Zi Xingxi who had just calmed down chuckled lightly while grabbing the back of Zi Han’s neck and said, “He said he was ready for regular shampoo but apparently not.”

“Mum can you just let it go? It’s embarrassing,” he whispered feeling a little aggrieved.

“I will if you say ‘mum you were right’ three times,” she said but of course, Zi Han wasn’t going to indulge her.

Lynn Feng who hadn’t gotten over the conversation yesterday about dirty little secrets was still itching to get into Zi Han’s light brain. So she asked, “Hey, Han Han, can I borrow your light brain for a second? I want to upgrade the security function,” interrupting their little squabble.

“Why is everyone interested in my light brain all of a sudden? Did something happen while I was sleeping?” he said actually taking it off. He didn’t mind giving it up if asked, unlike a certain someone who snuck into his cabin in the dead of night just to snoop into his light brain.

“No, don’t give her. What upgrade? You are just being a busybody,” said Zi Xingxi while holding down Zi Han’s wrist so he couldn’t take it off.

“Geez, auntie Sheila. Why are you acting like I am asking for classified documents? I really want to upgrade Han Han’s light brain,” explained Lynn Feng but in truth, she was already cloning Zi Han’s light brain.

She couldn’t sleep last night dying to know. Who would have thought she wasn’t the only one who had a sleepless night because they were too curious.

As the elevator door opened the pair of mother and son walked ahead while Lynn Feng remained behind scanning through Zi Han’s light brain. Her eyes widened before tapping secretary K’s arm while he was passing by.

“Did you know Han Han had a virtual ice cream date only to reject the girl? I bet she was traumatized after that. She won’t be eating ice cream anymore,” she said with a face full of gossip.

Secretary K, “....”

“How do you..... are you kidding me. You cloned his light brain?” said secretary K while pushing up his glasses.

Lynn Feng grinned slyly as she said, “Yah.... I have also cloned yours too. You really love kittens, don’t you? Hey, hey... let go.”

Let go of what exactly? Well, secretary K had gripped her wrist tightly while saying, “Format it,” referring to the cloned light brain.

“Ah... Auntie Sheila, your secretary is bullying me,” yelled Lynn Feng while trying to free herself from that death grip.

The so-called Auntie Sheila, “.....”

“Secretary K, stop flirting and let’s go,” said Zi Xingxi wondering what got into her stern-faced secretary today.

Secretary K let go only for Lynn Feng to stagger backwards. He glared daggers at her but it was ineffective. In response, she stuck out her tongue before turning to the elevator.

Secretary K, “...”
