The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 124

Yi Feng, “...”

Meanwhile, Zi Han who had been playing fake dating with Yi Chen received a message on his light brain. When he saw it was his mother’s message he quickly let go of Yi Chen and his entire body stiffened. She had clearly told him to stay at home but he had disobeyed her and left the house without telling his grandfather.

This crime wasn’t as worrying to him. He was especially good at coaxing Zi Xingxi. What was worrying was the fact that she might have seen him. If she did then even if he jumped into the Yangtze river he wouldn’t be able to wash himself clean.

If she found out that he was dressed like a girl and hanging out with Yi Chen then it won’t be only Yi Chen getting into trouble. He would also be implicated in this.

Yi Chen noticed his anomaly and asked, “What’s wrong,” but Zi Han shook his head and replied,

“Nothing,” while closing his light brain.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Three consecutive dinging sounds came from his light brain and his back stiffened. This further confirmed his conjecture.

.....

On the rooftop of an adjacent building....

“This brat is really ignoring me. We will see about that,” said Zi Xingxi as she lay flat on the ground with an AP sniper rifle in her hand. Her eye left the scope and she directly dialed his number.

Zi Han who was already sweating bullets at this point heard his light brain ringing and his face turned ghastly like he had seen a ghost. “What’s wrong?” asked Yi Chen again now seriously getting worried. He was on cloud nine this entire time and it only took one change in Zi Han’s expression for his mood to plummet.

Zi Han raised his index finger and said, “Give me a minute,” before getting up. Yi Chen worriedly followed his figure.

Zi Han stood by the ceiling to floor windows and answered the call feeling a little anxious.

“Mum....,” he said but the person on the other side didn’t answer immediately. After keeping silent for half a minute she finally spoke,

“He forced you didn’t he? I will kill him.”

Zi Han, “...”

He didn’t think his mother would move from zero to a hundred in a second. “No, you mis, mis-,” he said when he saw a faint green laser beam on the ground.

His eyes widened as he shifted his body to stand between the laser beam and Yi Chen seated behind him. “You misunderstood. Ma, he tutored me and I am just repaying him,” he hurriedly explained but Zi Xingxi heard none of it.

“Move,” she said in an icy voice that Zi Han had rarely heard before.

Zi Han refused to move as he tried to coax his mother. There was no way he was moving. As crazy as his mother was she would off Yi Chen right here.

“Ma..... it’s my fault. Please calm down, okay?” he said in a calming voice. Zi Xingxi swallowed her saliva while clenching her jaw as she struggled to suppress the feral beast within her. She knew she couldn’t let her hate for the Marshal spread to the next generation but dang..... she couldn’t help herself.

When she saw her son dressed like a girl and being touchy-feely with that Yi boy she couldn’t handle it. She got so angry that she wanted to kill Yi Chen on an impulse.

Closing her eyes, she put away that murderous aura but before she could open them again she had an ominous feeling. The hairs all over her body rose like something messed up was about to go down. She suddenly opened her eyes and yelled, “Han Han get away from the-!”

Before she could finish her sentence a supersonic boom ripped through the air. Yi Chen also had the same premonition as Zi Xingxi. He hastily got up and grabbed Zi Han by the waist and as the shock waves shattered the windows Yi Chen turned his back and protected Zi Han.

The massive shock waves forced the both of them to the ground with a glass shard cutting Yi Chen’s shoulder. Yi Chen groaned a little but he didn’t let go of the person he was holding.

As the chaotic screams and wails calmed down a loud roar permeated the air shaking the building at its very foundation. Soon the sound of gunfire was heard.

Yi Chen pulled up Zi Han from the ground and asked, “Are you okay?” while brushing away the hair covering Zi Han’s face. Feeling a little anxious he began to check the rest of Zi Han’s body for injuries. Zi Han who was slightly shaken quickly recovered and replied, “I am fine, I am-.”

Zi Han paused when he heard his mother’s frantic calls from his light brain. He immediately put on his earphone that had fallen to the ground and reassured her.

“Ma, it’s okay Ma, I am okay. I am fine. No no no no don’t... don’t come over. I am really fine,” he said as he walked away from Yi Chen trying to calm her down.

Yi Chen turned to Yi Feng and yelled, “Shield the windows.”

Yi Feng nodded his head and crouched down before pressing a button and in place of the shattered windows, a protective shield was erected.

“Is there anyone injured?” asked Yi Chen as his gaze subconsciously shifted over to Zi Han who was still talking to his mum. Zi Han felt his gaze so he turned to look in his direction only to see a bright red stain on Yi Chen’s shoulder.

His heart sank seeing this. It should have been him who was injured but Yi Chen protected him shielding him from the glass shards. “Mum, don’t worry. I am fine. I will call you back,” he said before dropping the call.

He walked over and as he stepped on the glass with his boots a loud crunching sound followed. Yi Chen was a little worried that a glass shard would pierce through the heels of Zi Han’s boots so he warned, “Be careful,” but Zi Han wasn’t listening.

He reached Yi Chen with a worried look in his eyes and spun him around to examine the wound. It wasn’t as serious as it looked but Zi Han felt very uncomfortable. He didn’t expect Yi Chen to shield his body with his. Yi Chen’s reaction was completely out of his expectations.
