The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 146

Zi Han who hadn’t thought his picture was deleted for that reason let out a throaty chuckle as he turned his gaze away. After laughing silently for a moment he turned his gaze back to him and said, “Then you just tell them that it’s a picture of your girlfriend.”

“*Cough, *cough, *cough... *cough, sorry..... hem..... I am, I am fine,” coughed Yi Chen while simultaneously reassuring him.

Zi Han, whether intentionally or unintentionally, was what one would call a smooth-talking charmer with the ability to make the most hard-hearted person fall in love with him.

His words, his expression, and his eyes when he spoke such words made Yi Chen’s blood rush like the floodgates had been opened after a thousand years of suppression.

Zi Han took out a bottle of water, unscrewed it, and handed it to him while asking, “Are you okay?”

Yi Chen nodded his head before gulping down half the bottle in one go trying to moisten his throat that was as dry as the Gobi desert. After he calmed down Yi Chen stiffly asked,

“Do you say such things to everyone?” He really wanted to know. If the answer was yes then he would have to ask him in the future to dial it back otherwise Yi Chen would absolutely die from an overdose of vinegar.

Zi Han appeared vexed for a moment but he soon responded, “Ah, how can I. I am your fake girlfriend after all thus my coy side is only reserved for you.”

.....

Hearing this Yi Chen’s lips quirked upwards in a state of intense happiness but soon his lips quirked downwards when Zi Han continued saying,

“That is until you finally find a girlfriend. I can’t keep pretending for an entire lifetime.”

Yi Chen wanted to ask, “What if I want to fake it for an entire lifetime?” but he kept his mouth shut in the end. If he said it he was sure he would confess his feelings and might lose this little bit of sweetness he had worked so hard to get.

That being said he didn’t want to continue this conversation hence he said, “I have something I want to show you.”

Zi Han finished off the last of his smoothie and placed the cup down asking, “What is it?” with the playfulness form before totally wiped away.

Yi Chen tapped his light brain and Zi Han lowered his head when he saw the light brain flickering. He opened the chat interface and saw a meticulously constructed training plan. His eyes lit up as he scrolled through the details.

“Is this your training regime?” asked Zi Han with great interest.

Yi Chen shook his head before clarifying, “I designed it for you. You said you wanted to have a breakthrough so I came up with a plan to help you achieve that.”

Zi Han raised his head and stared at him in awe. What was Zi Han’s training plan before? Simple, he had no plan whatsoever. He was the wing-it type of guy and couldn’t keep to a schedule.

Back in Saarilia, he wanted to get a professional trainer to help him upgrade his mental power but effective trainers were expensive and couldn’t be found in the slums of the surface city.

Just like tutors they were considered precious and would only be found in the affluent community of sky city. Because he knew how expensive it was he didn’t tell his mother about it. He was afraid she would work herself to death trying to get a trainer for him.

Fast track to now. He wanted to ask his grandfather for help but now that he had pre-enlisted they weren’t allowed to get trainers outside the military.

Before he could even put forth his request to his grandfather Yi Chen came up with a great plan and was offering to guide him. How can someone be this nice? It was unbelievable.

“Argh class president Chen, why are you so nice to me?” asked Zi Han with a sunny smile you would think he was possessed by a happy ghost.

“Call me Chen-ge and I will tell you,” said Yi Chen taking his shamelessness to a whole new level.

Zi Han, “....”

“I am most definitely older than you yet you dare ask this elder to call you that?” said Zi Han with zero evidence.

“I was born the seventh day of the last month the year of the dragon,” said Yi Chen with great confidence. Zi Han was indeed his junior. Granted it was by a few months but he was still a didi in his eyes.

“Uh uh, don’t look so smug. You are older by only a couple of months,” said Zi Han annoyed by the boastful look on his face.

Yi Chen crossed his arms on his chest and said, “I am waiting?”

Zi Han, “Fuck..... don’t rush me.... damn it, why is it so hard to say it, especially while you are looking at me like that.”

Yi Chen decided to make it easier for him so he lowered his head slightly as he finished off his ice coffee that was almost watery from the ice cubes melting. As he took a few sips he suddenly heard Zi Han call out,

“Chen-ge,” in a low voice like he was being compelled by a sinister spirit to say it.

A big smile broke out on Yi Chen’s lips with the straw stuck in between them. He let go of the straw and straightened his expression before saying. “Say it again. I didn’t hear it.”

Zi Han, “WTF!?”

“Okay, you want me to say it then I will say it. Chen-ge, Chen-ge, Chen-ge, Chen-ge.... Chen-ge. There I said it. Are you happy?” said Zi Han and when Lin Ruoxi heard it she covered her face in embarrassment.

She had been scammed. Her son was not a lifeless cold stone at all. He was as manipulative as she was. The way he led that conversation in that direction was an exact replica of what she does to her husband when she wants something.

You know what they say, ‘Monkey see, monkey do.’ Kids emulate their parent’s behaviors both ways.

Yi Chen nodded his head with the tips of his ears feeling a little hot. Yes, he was truly happy indeed. This was turning out to be one of the happiest days of his life.

Author’s note: Hehe, except that his mother is watching.
