The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 250

Kiet felt like the rock weighing heavy on his heart was lifted and he could finally breathe. Yi Chen was right, as long as this stripe was still on his arm it meant that Yi Feng still loved him. The day it disappears that is the day he should be worried.

“Are you two kidding me? You are backing each other up now?” asked Yi Feng his mouth agape.

“Sure, brother in law,” said Kiet deliberately dragging his words while smiling at Yi Feng, “I will forward the initial report. He is still in critical condition but that old bastard will definitely survive.”

Yi Chen pursed his lips his expression grateful. “Thanks,” he said when a nice sounding voice of a young man was heard coming from Kiet’s side.

“Dr. Kiet, here you are. I have been looking for you. I brought you a nutrient supplement. After all those hours in surgery, you must be hungry.”

Kiet turned around and so did the people in the video call. Yi Feng who was lazing on the bed sat up straight with a jolt, his eyes as wide as flying saucers.

How could he not know Kiet’s type? In the past, he was into the fresh young type with toned muscles but not bulky. He on the other hand was a far cry from that type. His voice wasn’t soft nor did he have a skinny frame. His guns were packing and he was tall. His skin wasn’t dewy either so yes, he was very insecure.

“Who is that?” he asked and Kiet tilted the screen for Yi Feng to see. In front of him was exactly the type Kiet was into and that vixen was obviously interested in the handsome doctor. Side by side they looked like the perfect pair like they were a couple.

.....

The young man waved his hand a little excited to meet his mentor’s friends. This was progress on his part thus how could he not be happy?

Kiet pointed at Yi Chen and said, “That’s the future Marshal, and that one over there... is my wife.”

The smile on the young man’s face froze staring at the one Kiet referred to as his wife. Wife where? That was obviously a straight slash gym bunny type of man. He looked like he would be the one to push Dr. Kiet down.

Yi Feng didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He should be happy that Kiet introduced him but why call him wife though.

“Hurry up and come home if you still want to have a wife,” said Yi Feng before kicking him off the video call.

Kiet, “...”

“I have to go,” he said before heading for the door.

The young man bit his lip a little disappointed. Rumour had it that Dr. Kiet was single but apparently they were wrong. He looked like a man eating meat at home.

Meanwhile, Yi Chen interrogated his cousin about something that had been bothering him.

“Didn’t you fall for him a little too fast? One minute you two were friends then... just like that?” he asked only for Yi Feng to almost roll his eyes.

“Says the guy who most definitely fell in love at first sight. At least we were friends for a very long time,” he said and Yi Chen shrugged his lips. The man indeed had a point.

“Have you ever heard that some men unknowingly have emotional relationships with their friends?” he said and Yi Chen shook his head. He really had never heard of it.

“Well, I must be one of them,” he said as he lay flat on his back, “Maybe it was because he was always Leila that I grew attached subconsciously. Now that I think of it I always found myself wishing he was a girl and constantly comparing him to every girl that I dated. *Sigh... I truly stood no chance from the very beginning.”

Yi Chen nodded his head truly happy for his cousin. His mood suddenly fell when he recalled that he couldn’t get hold of Zi Han. He also wanted to press him down and call him wife before doing it three to four times.

With a soft ding, a report came through to his light brain. “I have to go,” said Yi Chen and Yi Feng waved his hand gesturing to him that he didn’t mind.

As soon as he cut the video call, Yi Chen opened the report and his furrowed brows relaxed a little. The three dimensional image of the bullets taken out from the prime minister’s body was indeed familiar but only to him and Zi Han’s family.

After running it through every secure database in the federation there was absolutely no record of that handgun anywhere. It was clean.

Yi Chen slumped back into his seat with a great sense of relief. When he opened his eyes again he picked up his light brain and opened Zi Han’s contact. Feeling sullen he dialed Zi Han’s contact but he was yet again slapped in the face by that horrible response.

He pulled his hair back with an irritable disposition. That’s when he realized that if Zi Han was with Zi Xingxi then if he calls her he might be able to speak to him or at least know how he was doing. This was basically when everything went downhill.

Yi Chen never thought he was the clingy type who would blow up his lover’s light brain calling him but that’s exactly what he did.

He knew Zi Han wouldn’t be able to see these messages but he couldn’t stop sending them. They started off pretty much normal like,

YC: I hope you are okay.

To,

YC: It hurts so much.

YC: Please call me as soon as you get these.

Then they got crazier,

YC: If this keeps up I might end up coming there to look for you.

YC: Should I bring something for your mother and grandfather?

YC: Wifey, if you don’t open the door for me I will jump through your window.

Three minutes later...

YC: The old steward at your place said you weren’t there.

YC: Baby, where are you?

YC: It’s driving me crazy.

Yep, not the proudest moment in his life but he couldn’t help it. He couldn’t concentrate on anything else. Little did he know that at that time Zi Han was fast asleep.
