The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 277

It seemed the entire Republic had cult tendencies with the great Phoenix being the almighty savior everyone looked forward to. They had been brainwashed into believing that the Federation had robbed their future and that the only way to get that future back was to destroy the core of the Federation and retrieve their savior.

Zi Han couldn’t stand it. Shaking with anger he stepped away from the young man crawling towards him but the boy was persistent.

He kept calling out, “Stor F?niks... Please come with me. Come with me home... please Stor F?niks.”

Each time he paused he would sniffle and wail while attempting to grasp his leg. Zi Han was so over it. He raised his leg and kicked the man hard on the shoulder and the man rolled away. Despite this, the young man was very determined. Having met his savior after years of anticipation he wouldn’t give up. The level of brainwashing was such that even if Zi Han beat him to death he would consider it an honor

He crawled over again and Zi Han was completely lost. The anger he had been restraining all this time finally erupted and he kicked him several times until Yi Chen pulled him away.

Yi Chen pressed him against the wall trying to calm him down while Li Ran rushed over to pull the young man up.

Zi Han was still stuck in his violent emotions his entire body trembling. His chest was heaving violently as he tried to get away from Yi Chen and continue beating that person.

Zi Han felt like he was going to suffocate from anger. He needed an outlet to vent it out thus he kept trying to get away from Yi Chen. His father was truly dead and the feeling of having hope and then having that hope taken away was so excruciating and ten times worse than the initial grief.

.....

Yi Chen couldn’t contain Zi Han thus he could only find an unconventional method. He grasped Zi Han’s wrist and pulled it behind the man’s back.

Zi Han tried to free his arm but his second hand was grasped as well limiting his movement. Zi Han’s gaze finally focused on Yi Chen. “Let go,” he spoke through gritted teeth but Yi Chen tightened his grip on both of Zi Han’s wrists. He raised his free hand and placed it at the back of Zi Han’s neck and kissed him deeply. Zi Han attempted to push him away at first but his struggle weakened gradually as he pressed his lips hard on Yi Chen’s. He began to suck and nibble on his man’s lips as though venting out his frustration. The kiss wasn’t that long but it was effective enough. Zi Han calmed down considerably after that. The boy who caused a ruckus was knocked out after Li Ran injected him with a sedative.

Ten minutes later three people were sitting in a meeting room eating breakfast their expressions wan.

Zi Han kept stabbing at his food rarely eating while Yi Chen tried to coax him into eating.

“What do we do?” asked Li Ran breaking the long awkward silence.

Yi Chen rubbed his lips while gazing at Zi Han. There was zero guarantee that the kid will keep his mouth shut and not expose Zi Han’s real identity thus they couldn’t hand him over.

Yi Chen wanted to solve this problem but at this point, he found that he didn’t have such capabilities. He could only rely on the Zi Xingxi to take care of this matter.

He heaved a deep sigh and said, “We can only hand him over to the Bloodgarde. This is the only way to ensure your safety.”

Zi Han’s hand stopped poking at his food and he raised his head at glance and Yi Chen. “In a few days, I will take my leave and meet with my mother. I will deal with it then,” he said before pushing the plate away and standing up to leave.

The two of them stared at him as he got up and didn’t know what to say. There were no words to describe what Zi Han was feeling right now. Yi Chen felt so bad about telling Zi Han about his father when he hadn’t confirmed it yet now things were like this. Zi Han must be really upset with him right now.

Zi Han left with the little Nimsel on his shoulder and as soon as the door closed Li Ran cleared his throat and asked, “Aren’t you going to get him?”

Yi Chen couldn’t answer that question for a moment. He felt so horrible and didn’t know how to face Zi Han. He could only give him some time alone until they could have that conversation.

Yi Chen lowered his head for a while before saying, “Have you ever tried to do something for someone to make them happy but before you could achieve it you tell them about it only for your plans to fall through and end up hurting them more?”

Hearing the pain and worry in Yi Chen’s voice Li Ran pushed his plate away with a slight crease in between his brows.

He was at a loss at this point and there was nothing he could say that could make things better. Heaving a big sigh he finally said, “He won’t say that he loves you but he most definitely does. The way he looks at you, the way he follows you around even with his eyes all express his love for you. He always puts you before himself and if that’s not love then I don’t know. You guys will get through this.”

His words were simple enough but they held great significance to Yi Chen. To be honest Yi Chen expected that they would have a big argument later but to his surprise Zi Han was.... fine. Or at least he was acting fine. He didn’t argue with him nor did he hold it against Yi Chen when he apologized.

Zi Han seemed really fine but because Yi Chen felt guilty there was still some lingering awkwardness between them.
