The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 309

“Plus you get scared easily. If I take you there you wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight,” said Lin Ruoxi but her kids were dead set on going against her today.

“But it’s still light outside. She won’t be scared. I also want to go,” said Yi Youxi before looking at Zi Han, “Don’t you want to go too?”

Zi Han, “...”

He is very brave but absolutely not that brave. “Um... I,” he stammered but Yi Chen finished the sentence for him,

“You guys can go. We will go to the love tunnel ride.”

Zi Han, “...”

Now he looked like he was a scaredy cat. A seven year old was excited for a good scare yet he was ready to head for the hills.

Well, challenge accepted. “I will go,” said Zi Han and he received an ‘are you serious’ glance from both Yi Chen and Zi Xingxi.

.....

“Let’s go. After that we can go for dinner,” said Zi Han as he turned and led the way. The reason why he turned that fast was that he didn’t want them all to see that his expression had turned ghastly.

Zi Han would much rather be at war with the Republic right now than face a haunted mansion. With the Federation’s technology, it was as realistic as day and Zi Han wasn’t looking forward to it. He was so terrified he was literally sweating bullets right now. Yi Chen caught up with him and tried to talk him out of it but Zi Han was as stubborn as a mule.

So how bad was Zi Han’s fear? Well, he would sleep with the light on, play games, or watch something funny just to get over the gory image of a ghost tearing apart a victim in a movie. It would undoubtedly be better when Yi Chen was around because he could coax him to sleep. This is why Yi Chen was a little concerned.

And he was right to be concerned because a haunted mansion and Zi Han did not mix at all. One might ask what did he do that was so bad. Well, as already established Zi Han was more of a fight response guy than flight thus things happened that shouldn’t have happened in that haunted mansion.

Everything from punching a hole in the wall after a jump scare to drawing his firearm at a screen projecting a five dimensional image of a ghoul.

Lucky for him there weren’t any people cosplaying as ghosts otherwise it might have been a lawsuit waiting to happen.

While his future husband was paying compensation for the damage, Lin Ruoxi patted his back and asked, “Han Han are you perhaps afraid of ghosts?”

Zi Han, “No...”

Zi Xingxi, “Yes, definitely yes.”

“Mum?” replied Zi Han having been exposed. Ming Ming and Yi Youxi felt so bad but at the same time couldn’t help but giggle recalling how Zi Han frightened that ghost so much that it ran for its life. It was both a frightening but happy experience.

The good thing though was that Zi Han was now banned from the haunted mansion, banned for a lifetime. Even throughout dinner Zi Han was still slightly unnerved by this. Not only did everyone know that he was afraid of ghosts but he had successfully been banned. No amount of peaches and cream crepes for dessert could make him feel better.

It was only after Yi Chen took him outside to watch fireworks did Zi Han’s mood improve.

“Well, this was a shitty day... I made a fool of myself,” said Zi Han with Yi Chen wrapping his arms around the man’s shoulder as he stood behind him.

Yi Chen exhaled deeply with his warm breath brushing against Zi Han’s ear before replying, “It wasn’t that bad. At least now we won’t go to haunted mansions anymore.”

That didn’t make Zi Han feel any better. Well, that is until he looked up and saw the shimmering lights of a burst firework with the words ‘I Love You’. Zi Han chuckled and was about to ask which lovesick fool went as far as doing that when another firework flew up and ignited showing in bright red his full name.

Zi Han, “...”

“So you are the lovesick idiot who did that?” asked Zi Han and Yi Chen admitted it.

“En, I did. I thought that would make you smile,” said Yi Chen and Zi Han was indeed smiling. He was smiling so much that it was reaching his eyes.

“So are you not going to say it back?” asked Yi Chen staring at Zi Han’s side profile.

Zi Han chuckled before answering, “No... no I am not.”

“Really?” said Yi Chen before moving his arms and wrapping them around Zi Han’s waist before picking him up. The two fooled around for a while under the dim lights of the fireworks. It was like the perfect ending to an eventful day that’s is for the two of them.

For Lin Ruoxi, not so much because they were arguing over what exactly was she doing hanging out with the Zi family members at the amusement park. They had had this conversation about this before but never came to a concession. That’s because Lin Ruoxi kept insisting that she really like being friends with Zi Xingxi and that’s what she was going to do.

Marshal Yi could no longer argue anymore. His wife was clearly stubborn about this and he was starting to feel like she was hiding something. There was definitely more beneath the surface and since his wife wouldn’t say it then who else could he ask?

His kids. Not the big one because he could never crack that one no matter how hard he tries. He could only go two his seven year old and nine year old for answers. Unfortunately for him, it wasn’t as easy as he thought. His kids were indeed his kids and quite difficult to manipulate the truth out of.
