The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 348

“Give that to me,” he said with his hand stretched out towards Yi Chen’s light brain.

Yi Chen shook his head as he tightened his grip on his light brain. Marshal Yi clenched his jaw before commanding him again.

“Give. It. To. Me... Now!” he said and Yi Chen had no choice but to give it to him.

Out of anger the Marshal took the light brain and threw it on the ground before stomping on it several times. After he was done he angrily pointed at him his hair a disheveled mess.

“Stay away from that kid... do you hear me! You are so lucky Zi Xingxi blew a hole in your mech otherwise you will be in handcuffs right now. Our family, your career, and everything that we worked hard for would go down the drain,” he said his face flushed with throbbing purple veins on his forehead.

Yi Chen had seen his father angry just not this pissed. “I can’t do that...,” said Yi Chen his voice hoarse.

“What the fuck do you mean you can’t do that? Do you still have your father in your eyes? He almost ruined our lives because he was so impulsive. He didn’t think about you. He didn’t think about your family when he made that stupid decision,” yelled the Marshal getting even angrier.

“I love him,” said Yi Chen and the Marshal fired back hitting his sore spot,

.....

“And does he love you? If he loved you then he wouldn’t have put you in jeopardy... Now get your fuckin self together and help me clean this mess.”

As the Marshal said this he fixed his son’s collar. “Let’s go,” he said before kicking the broken light brain and storming out.

As soon as they left the hospital they were suddenly surrounded by reporters and reporter drones flashing their cameras while asking questions. Nearby they were protesters calling for the Marshal’s head and this scene of father and son was broadcasted everywhere.

Zi Han would replay this scene over and over again staring at his lover he hadn’t seen in a very long time.

His mother had told him not to leave the warship but of course, he had to be stubborn. He disguised himself as a regular looking white collar worker and left for Yi Chen’s apartment. He hoped that when Yi Chen gets a notification that someone had entered their home, he would show up but Zi Han had camped here for a long time but still there was no Yi Chen.

Zi Han lay down and closed his eyes contemplating whether he should go to the warship or not when the broadcast that was condemning him just now changed tunes.

“... Breaking news coming from the interplanetary military headquarters the prime minister of Loch Ness star was involved in the murder of his highness Yeoh. Verified videos of him confessing to the crime have surfaced. For more on this breaking.....”

Zi Han turned his head to the side his expression indifferent to the news. His mother had already planned on releasing this information. She just wanted to make sure they had everything necessary for a good old fashioned face slapping moment. In her own words, “They might condemn my baby but he got rid of the worst monster in the world.”

Zi Han looked up to the ceiling while biting his lips. A tear flowed down the crease of his eye and the small droplet left a trail as it flowed down and disappeared into the couch.

He had made his bed and naturally he had to lie in it. He had to come to terms with the fact that Yi Chen wasn’t coming thus he roughly rubbed his eyes and sat up.

Just as he made up his mind to go back the door suddenly unlocked and he turned to look in that direction. He saw Yi Chen taking off his jacket at the door.

Yi Chen hung the slightly wet jacket and while he was doing that a pair of arms wrapped around his waist. He closed his eyes his heart racing as a warm feeling spread all over his chest.

“I didn’t think you will come,” whispered Zi Han and Yi Chen turned around before hugging him tightly.

He lowered his head and sniffed that lovely citrus scent coming from Zi Han’s hair.

All his unhappiness from the past few days vanished at that moment. “Of course, I would come. I missed you so much,” said Yi Chen his voice hoarse.

Zi Han couldn’t hold back his emotions. The waterworks began again and yes, he felt stupid because it was his decision in the first place to do this.

Now he couldn’t see Yi Chen whenever he wanted. It was all of his own making. Zi Han clutched Yi Chen’s t-shirt tightly and felt the slight dampness thus he asked, “Why are your clothes wet?.”

Yi Chen didn’t want him to know that he had to catch a cab and drop off somewhere busy before shaking away the people his father sent after him.

His mother knew about this place and so did his siblings but not his father. He had Li Ran remove his name from the housing registry and put a fake name on this property so his father would never find out he owned it.

“It’s nothing. I just got rained on. I can’t stay long... my father will hunt me down,” he said only for Zi Han to tighten his grip and ask in a low almost begging tone,

“Can’t you spend one night with me? Just one night.”

AN: One more night... one more night.... one more night.

That’s a song by the way. Let me know which one it is.
