The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 380

“Why are you like this? Grandpa, you have changed. You used to love me,” said Zi Han seeming very aggrieved.

Normally Zi Feiji would fall for that sad puppy face but this time he was very heartless. “You did that to yourself last night when you helped your mother win against me. You are dealing with the consequences of your own actions.”

Zi Han, “...”

Having thought of a reasonable excuse Zi Han got up and filled up his mother’s glass while saying, “Mum.... you know I love you, right?”

Zi Xingxi, “...”

Oh, she knew he was up to no good. Despite knowing fully well that this was a trap she still found herself lured into it. Zi Han leaned against the counter and said, “You know I have been very heartbroken lately, right?... I decided that since I want to move on, I need to heal internally so I thought maybe I could go out and meet up with someone new. Someone I met online... so.”

Zi Xingxi was ready to agree to whatever request he had. Her baby had just joined the Bloodgarde so yes, she felt like spoiling him a little. But after hearing what he said she seemed to have a change of heart.

“You just broke up with Yi Chen now you want to run off with some stranger?” she said with a wtf expression plastered on her face.

.....

Based on her husband’s character their son should be just like him. She knew he was going to have a very difficult time moving on from Yi Chen but this son of hers was even whispering in the bathroom with someone planning meet ups or hook ups or whatever.

“Is love so cheap to you? You can’t just move on right after a breakup,” she said and Zi Han’s brow creased finding it very amusing.

“What do you mean? I thought you don’t like Yi Chen,” said Zi Han and Zi Xingxi who was already ready to erupt swallowed back her words. Did she dislike Yi Chen? Yes. Was she defending him? Nope?

She was just mad at her son for being so fickle.

“I don’t like him neither do I care for him but you shouldn’t too be fickle. It’s unlike you,” she said only for Zi Feiji to clear his throat.

He rubbed his throat like it was painful before saying, “Han Han, grandpa’s throat is a little uncomfortable. Can you get me some warm water... please,” he said and Zi Han was really concerned for him and didn’t see this as his grandfather’s way to get rid of him as he hurried away.

As soon as he was far enough Zi Feiji leaned closer to his daughter and said, “What do you think you are doing? The sooner he moves on the better. I want him to be happy but there is no way I am letting him get wronged by that fuckin Marshal ever again. He beat your son. Even you have never hit him.”

“Well... I have hit him once... okay fine thrice with my slipper... and a pillow,” she replied recalling how she chased him with a slipper once and flung it.

She intended to scare him letting it hit a wall but it smacked him upside his head and she felt guilty about that. The way he looked back at her at that time was kind of funny though. It was as though he was in disbelief. He couldn’t believe that the slipper landed accurately on his head. For the next four days, he glared at her like she was a monster that had possessed his mother.

“Okay fine you have hit him before but that fucker broke his hand. I am not letting that Chen kid anywhere near him in the future unless he renounces his ancestors and his ancestors’ ancestors and takes up the name Lin instead,” said Zi Feiji looking like a warrior ready to charge into battle.

“So if he wants to move on you better freaking agree. Understood?”

“Understood what?” asked Zi Han standing behind the two people whispering loudly.

Grandpa Zi jolted a little surprised his grandson could even sneak up on him. “Why are you sneaking up on this old man? Do you know that my heart is very weak?” said Zi Feiji and Zi Xingxi almost rolled her eyes.

Her father’s heart was so strong that he could even outlive them both yet here he was playing that card because of his age.

Zi Han placed the cup in front of his grandfather while exposing him. “I thought you said your throat was uncomfortable. It sounds fine to me,” he said with a blank expression like he wasn’t exposing him just now.

While these two were bickering in the background, Zi Xingxi suddenly thought it through and her father was right. If Zi Han could find happiness in another person then wouldn’t that be great? Her father was right. The only way she would ever let her son get back together with Yi Chen was if he denounces the Yi family name and disassociates with the Marshal.

It’s only then she could feel comfortable with them being together again. Since that was never going to happen then it would be a good thing if her son moves on.

“I will let you go out there and mingle but it has to be within the Bloodgarde. You can go on blind dates and see which of the boys you would click with,” she said and Zi Han’s jaw dropped.

How did she decide that from his one request to go out? He frantically waved his hands and said, “No no no. I will do it myself. Why do you have to get involved in this?”

“I didn’t say you should date them. I am just saying you can go hang out with the boys within the Bloodgarde. We have plenty of fun, loving and caring young men on the list. I am sure one of them will catch your fancy,” she said before standing up and continuing, “it’s been settled. My baby is getting a new boyfriend.”

Zi Han, “Fuccccck...”

Yi Chen felt a very ominous premonition in his dreams while he was napping which woke him up. Something very very bad was about to happen.
