The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 433

It was chaotic on the other side and Zi Xingxi was glaring at her like she wanted to skin her alive. She couldn’t understand when she offended this great buddha.

She licked her lips and put the doughnut down her soul almost vacating her body. “What, what happened,” she asked not daring to look into those horror filled eyes.

Yi Zhen explained everything and her rosy complexion turned pale as she opened the simulation program.

“It’s not meant to do that. It’s either Zi Han is too immersed in this simulation and believes that it’s very real or there is a virus running the program. Given Lynn Feng’s skills, it could be the former. Cases like this had happened before but you either talk him out of it or let him have a satisfactory ending that is more favourable to him. One thing you can’t do though is forcibly end the simulation. That won’t end well. The consequences might be irreparable, especially for someone with a high rank in mental power,” she explained and the faces on the other side looked like they were going to kill her.

While Li Wei was wondering where in this universe she could hide before Zi Xingxi finds her for revenge, Zi Han had gone through more than half of the simulation and he still couldn’t save Yi Chen.

This time he didn’t get blown away but he lay on the slope crying. He suddenly felt like a failure. The fear of losing Yi Chen grew stronger and stronger. Just when he was sinking deep in his despair, the creature caught up and saw his small figure. It swung its tail and buried him in the red sand.

Zi Han closed his eyes tiredly his emotions in turmoil. He could hear voices trying to calm him down but there were merely echoes in the background bouncing off the walls. His raging mental power mirrored his emotions circling around him restlessly.

It was clear at this point that he was on the verge of collapse. If he saw Yi Chen die one more time then he might reach a point of no return. Silent whimpers could be heard in the darkness as he lay there.

.....

His mech which was silent suddenly lit up and a ball of light appeared in front of him. The warmth from that light made him open his eyes. In this vast sea of darkness, the ball of light provided a sense of relief.

“Look at you... why are you crying?” said a familiar voice that he had heard before when he was in that villa that could have been their home.

He had also heard it in the videos stored in Igneous, videos of his father that he rarely watched because it hurt too much.

Zi Han curled up and lay on his side refusing to talk. For once he just wanted not to be strong. He wanted to be vulnerable and helpless thus he didn’t put up a front. He just cried it out and the warm ball of light didn’t disappoint. It lowered down and nozzled Zi Han making him feel warm inside.

“Shh, Shh dad is here. Let it out little phoenix,” it said and Zi Han cried even more this time much louder.

The ball of light, “...”

If there was a forum it would have typed;

First time dad here. How to coax adult children? Urgent, waiting online.

“Why are you crying even more? If you don’t tell me the problem then how can I fix it?” asked the light ball. It was a faint light ball but it was an example of what Yeoh Jun could do. Too bad his consciousness was muddled and he could only take this form. Apart from him no matter how weak he was could still sense his little pheonix’s cries in his broken metal power and he could still show up.

Zi Han wiped his tears and sniffled like a toddler who had been wronged on the playground. “Are you a ghost?” asked Zi Han before continuing again, “Am I dead too?”

The little ball of light, “...” It wanted to ask if it was okay to call your own child stupid?

“Me yes... you not so much. You are still very much alive. I don’t have much time so you should hurry up and tell this old man what is troubling you.”

“Oh... Okay,” replied Zi Han and boy did the little ball of light feel insulted. A great buddha was right in front of you and your response was, “Oh... Okay.”

Oh? Okay? He should have been more excited than that.

Everyone else in the control room, “...”

Lynn Feng was the first one to ask, “Who is he talking to?”

“I don’t know. Lynn, increase the volume he is speaking in a whisper like he is sleep talking,” said Yi Zhen terrified that he had broken someone’s child’s brain. How was he to compensate them?

Zi Xingxi furrowed her brow when she heard the word dead. They could hear Zi Han but they couldn’t hear the person he was talking to. She was beginning to suspect that her son might be seeing things and was talking to her husband.

Her heart twisted painfully as she glared daggers at Yi Zhen. “Are you happy now? You broke his brain,” she said and Yi Zhen felt so bad he couldn’t help but lower his head. His arrogancy from before had been completely wiped away so much so that one wouldn’t think it was the same person.

“I want to space jump but... I don’t know how?” said Zi Han with a hint of grievance in his heart.

The little ball of light rubbed against his hair stroking it lovely before saying, “Uh, thats what you are crying about? That is very easy to do.”

Zi Han seemed a little surprised. His eyes widened and he asked, “Really? Are you lying?”

Ball of light, “...”

Let’s just say that Zi Han’s mental state had dropped to its lowest like his brain was being burnt by a fever so his speech and tone were like that of a wronged child. Zi Xingxi wished she could give her son a head pat.

“You just have to call dad first,” said the ball of light thinking this would be easy for Zi Han. It was indeed a simple request but who would have thought this brat would make the ball of light shocked instead?

“No, I only have one dad and that’s daddy Chen,” replied Zi Han with so much confidence.

Everyone, “...”

The ball of light, “QAQ”
