The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 469

While she was searching, the temple doors opened and four people dressed in worn out white robes were pushed out with their hands tied up in front of them.

Each of them were led to four cubes while the high priestess walked over to the podium so she could recite the script and read out their crimes.

As her raspy voice echoed in the distance, Zi Han was crouching on a rooftop with his finger on the trigger of the handgun watching Yi Chen standing in the crowd. A slight quirk appeared at the corner of his lips when the thought of messing with Yi Chen crossed his mind.

“You look so nervous. I can smell your fear from all the way here,” said Zi Han and Yi Chen opened his mouth to speak but he recalled he couldn’t talk now. He just lowered his head hiding the smile at the corner of his lips.

Zi Han didn’t stop there. He pulled his hair back and continued to say, “You know... I like you like this. You look so hot. The things I would do to you... mmm,” only for Yi Chen to accidentally initiate the plan early.

“Baby, really,” said Zi Han as he stood up. The crackling sounds of firecrackers exploding at people’s feet tore through the air. It wasn’t because he was afraid or nervous but when he heard what Zi Han said his breath stagnated and he pressed the button accidentally.

Zi Han leapt off the roof after saying, “I will punish you for that later.”

Yi Chen calmly walked through the chaos while replying, “This really wasn’t my fault. You kept whispering nasty things in my ear.”

.....

Zi Han ignored him as he landed on the next roof before jumping down to the top of the temple stairs and grabbing the priestess. As he pressed the dagger on her neck he asked, “You got these four?”

“I got them,” replied Yi Chen, and two seconds later four shots rang out and the crowd scattered with loud screams.

Zi Han tilted his head slightly and whispered to the priestess, “I am sure you know what kind of situation you are in. Tell them to stand down or I will kill you.”

Priestess Fan looked at the guards who had drawn their weapons and swallowed hard. The Republic had limited amounts of weapons and ammunition thus they rarely took out their guns. Now the situation was dire but she also knew that they wouldn’t be able to stand a chance against this demigod.

“Stand down,” she said and Zi Han grinned like a devil here to wreak havoc.

“Walk,” he said and she was forced to comply.

Yi Chen cut the restraints on the four people before leading them away. Their figures disappeared in the chaotic crowd while Zi Han followed the plan looking for where his father was being kept.

As they walked down the hall heading for the elevator, priestess Fan said, “You know he is waiting for you, right?”

Zi Han licked the tip of his canine before responding, “I know. I am ready for him.”

The two entered the elevator and as soon as the door closed he ordered her to scan her biometrics before she clicked on the button without a label.

He withdrew his handgun and tapped the side of his face. The regular Joe appearance he had before vanished leaving behind a heaven defying beauty that had priestess Fan staring to the point that her eyes were about to pop out of their sockets.

Zi Han took out an assault rifle and tapped his index finger on the side to scan his genetic code.

“You... you...,” she stammered but Zi Han ignored her. He noticed his bangs had grown a little too long and might obstruct him so he handed her the assault rifle which she couldn’t use even if she wanted to.

He took out a hair tie and tied his hair into a cute man bun before taking back his assault rifle.

Zi Han rolled his shoulders back preparing himself mentally. He was about to see his father, a man he never thought he would ever see in his entire life so yes, he was quite nervous.

“You really are stor f?niks?” she asked her face ashen.

Zi Han smiled at her and said, “Can you hold this for me,” while handing her a tiny square envelope.

“What is it?” she asked and Zi Han just smiled at her. Two seconds later there was a loud thud as she fell to the ground convulsing. The elevator door opened with a ding and Zi Han drew his weapon as he stepped out.

“Okay, Iggy. Where is he?” he asked and Igneous pulled up the map. Two steps in and the screen began to glitch.

“Shit,” swore Zi Han realising something in this place was interfering with Igneous. He had to rely on his memory to find the place his father was being held. After kicking a few doors Zi Han couldn’t find what he was looking for. It was only after searching for ten minutes did he find that there was another secret elevator.

Zi Han pressed the button and less than a minute later the doors drew apart with a cloud of mist flowing out. The strong stench of poison wafted in the air. This was a trap set by Yeoh Lang but Zi Han was well versed when it came to poisons in both the Federation and the Republic. He took out an antidote to counter it and entered the elevator.

Inside he raised his head and found a camera right above his head. With a smug smile, he flicked his middle finger and shot at it. The screen Yeoh Lang was observing went black and the man sneered while lightly tapping the desk.

“Let the games begin,” he said as he got up to his feet.
